SnT in a Box: Free/Open source software compilation for Science Teaching

Printer-friendly versionSend to friendPDF version

Finally, an initial release of SnT in Box software compilation.

Today, CPU is announcing availability of a compilation of Free and Open Source Software tools that can be used by science teachers. The compilation was inspired by similar earlier initiatives like NGO-in-a-Box of Tactical Tech.

So far, the team has selected tools from the Debian Science repository. We have tools for chemistry, biology, physics, geology and other fields of natural sciences. The selection is a bit huge. We will be trimming down the said compilation after comments and feedback from the community of teachers we have formed last May 2009.

A new release will be announced later this November.

The compilation also include teaching videos released in the creative commons license.
